Case Study: TopSign UK

In February 2024, I began working with TopSign UK, a specialist bespoke illuminated signage company. They required a new wesite and support with some of their online marketing activities.

About TopSign UK

TopSign UK are a bespoke signage company based in Cheshire. They specialise in business signage for indoor or outdoor use, mainly fairground-style signs and large letters. TopSign serve a range of customers throughout the UK, including resturants and bars, hotels, food vans and shopping centres.

The Challenge

Tom from TopSign UK approched me as he needed someone to build their brand new website. He required a few pages showing their different product types, a testimonials page, a gallery, and information pages for things like delivery and returns policies.

Once the website was set up, Tom began running some Meta lead ads, so a couple of landing pages were required. The results from his Meta ads were great, so as he expanded his campaigns he wanted to have a followup journey for people who have enquired, as well as a monthly email campaign showing their latest creations and driving traffic back to the website.

The Solution

I created the website on WordPress using the Inspiro theme as a starting point. I chose this theme because it has great customisability and very clean navigation functionality for users on the website whether they’re browsing on their phone or on a PC. After some customising of certain elements, creating a new page template to keep all pages in the same style, and adding their branding colours to some of the elements, I added the content and images that Tom sent me, set up all the linking and contact forms and it was ready for approval.

Once I had approval to go live, we then worked on creating the onboarding journey for leads. To achieve this, I used Zapier and Mailchimp to create an automation process that contacts anyone who submitted a lead asking for their requirements and also sends Tom a text letting him know that someone has enquired. If they don’t reply that’s not a problem, we automatically send a followup email after a few days to ask if they’re still interested.

For the rest of the audience, we send a monthly email providing updates on the business and showing off some of the latest signage, keeping existing customers and non-converters warm and familiar with the TopSign UK name.
